What to Expect
The following is what you can expect during a HBOT treatment session.
Before HBOT
A necessary first step is to schedule an appointment for a consultation with our experts. During that discussion both you and the doctor will determine if Hyperbaric medicine is a viable treatment option and identify a personalized protocol to address your individual needs. The number of treatments can vary depending on the need. For some it may be 40 to 60. For others, it could be as few as 5-10. Final determinations will be made upon evaluation of the healing process.
During HBOT
At the beginning each visit, one of our trained experts will check your vitals and review a checklist of what is and is not allowed in the chamber during treatment. During therapy, you will lay comfortably in our hyperbaric chamber, made for individual-only use. A trained technician will be present to monitor and speak with you throughout the treatment. The chamber is clear acrylic with an ability to communicate at all times. Each chamber is equipped with streaming capabilities to allow you to relax, watch a movie or TV show, or listen to music during the treatment. Many choose to nap during this time as well.
As the treatment begins, you may experience ear pressure similar to what one might feel on an airplane or at a high elevation. Yawning or swallowing will usually relieve the pressure.
A typical treatment last from 90 to 120 minutes. And, our goal is to make this experience as comfortable as possible for you during that time.
After HBOT
At the end of a treatment session, the technician will wrap up by taking your vitals again. You may feel tired or hungry following a treatment. The treatment does not limit your normal daily activities.
If you are interested in learning more about how HBOT can potentially help you, we recommend you set up a time to talk with one of our experts to learn more.
