Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been proven to benefit a wide range of medical conditions worldwide. Below is a list of both FDA Approved and Emerging conditions. Emerging conditions are medical conditions that have a lot of research and patient experiences that support HBOT as an effective treatment, however those conditions have not yet been approved in the U.S. by the FDA.

  • Diabetic Wounds of the Lower Extremities

  • Soft Tissue Radionecrosis - Cystitis, Proctitis, (Breast) Capsular Contracture

  • Chronic Refractory Osteomyelitis

  • Actinomycosis (Only as an adjunct to conventional therapy when the disease process is refractory to antibiotics and surgical treatment)

  • Acute Carbon Monoxide Intoxication

  • Acute Peripheral Arterial Insufficiency

  • Acute Traumatic Peripheral Ischemia

  • Crush Injuries & Suturing of Severed Limbs

  • Cyanide Poisoning

  • Decompression Illness

  • Gas Embolism

  • Gas Gangrene

  • Osteoradionecrosis

  • Preparation & Preservation of Compromised Skin Grafts

  • Progressive Necrotizing Infections (Necrotizing Fasciitis)

  • Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNL)

Soft Indications

Soft indications (emerging treatments) can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Contraindications

Contraindications are existing medical conditions where HBOT should not be utilized.

  • Pneumothorax

  • Pregnancy

  • Some Chemotherapy drugs (Bleomycin)

  • Congestive Heart Failure
